NOTES

  1. Fildraw
  2. The parents of Thomas McYlrea were almost certainly Thomas Mylrea & Issabel (family name unknown). Thus, his siblings would have been John (who married Cathrin Norris), Martin (who married Elizabeth Bridson) & Issabel
  3. Thomas was born c1630 and married Margaret Gellin in 1654
  4. He was buried 18th March 1711
  5. He & Margaret had at least 10 children: John (1658), John (1659), Thomas (1662), Nicho (1665-1699), Robert (1668-1669), Robert (1670), Jony (1672), Elizabeth (1676), Margaret (16??), Catherine (16??), of whom three daughters were alive when he died. Sons John and Thomas were also alive. Nicho had died and Robert's circumstances unknown
  6. Son John married Elizabeth Shimmin in 1686, Thomas married Cath Bell in 1686, and Nicho had married Christian Gawne in 1692 but died in 1699
  7. Thomas originally compounded the Fildraw lands in 1666 with son John (1704 Composition Book) although the family could have already held the lands
  8. It was a troubled legacy over the generations, eventually passing out of Mylrea hands in the late 1700s
  9. There is much about the Malew Mylreas of the 1600s and early 1700s that does not hang together so extreme caution must be exercised
